A Case of Werdnig-Hoffmann Disease

Abstract
|
|
|
Acute Werdning-Hoffmann disease is a heredofamilial degenerative disease of anterior-horn cells in the spinal cord and or motor nuclei in the brain stem, and is clinically characterized by progressive muscular weakness and frog-leg posture.
We experienced a case of Werdnig-Hoffmann disease in a 5 month-old male infant who developed generalized muscular weakness and frog-leg posture at age of 3 months. Diagnosis was made by clinical features, electromyography and muscle biopsy.
